About the Artist
Robert Morris moved from his home town of Santa Barbara to Joshua Tree, California in 2005. Although he misses the amenities of civilization, he enjoys the summer heat, the otherworldly rock formations, and the silence of the desert. His formal education consists of a B.A. in the Humanities (English and Art History), but he is self-taught in the art of photography. He has done some freelance travel photography in the past, and now concentrates on exhibiting and publishing his fine-art work.
Though by nature resistant to change, Robert has embraced the digital printing of color photographs because of the high degree of control it allows the artist over the final image. Many of his subjects are also photographed digitally, but some are still captured using 6 x 4.5 cm. film transparencies, which are processed and scanned into the digital environment. All images are optimized or composed in Adobe Photoshop and printed on 100 % cotton paper using Epson Ultrachrome pigment inks. |
